Arbor Day Celebration

The City of Myrtle Creek will be celebrating Arbor Day this Friday, April 26th with the planting of a new tree in Millsite Park.

Arbor Day was officially proclaimed in 1874 by Nebraska Governor, Robert W. Furnas. Today all 50 states celebrate Arbor Day. The focus of Arbor Day is hope for the future. With the planting of new trees, we celebrate a greener tomorrow and the benefits that come with that. Shade provided by trees can lower temperatures by around 10 degrees and trees also help to clean our air by capturing airborne particulates.

Come celebrate Arbor Day with us as we plant a tree in Millsite Park on Friday April 26th at 10:00 am near the picnic pavilion.
